Water System Plans in Review Process Some public water systems are required to submit planning documents to the Department of Health, Office of Drinking Water (ODW) for review and approval. ODW has prepared a list of active Water System Plans (WSPs) (Excel 96KB- updated 01/2008).* The planning process starts with a preplan meeting between the water system and ODW staff. Then the water system prepares and submits the document. After receiving the submittal, ODW has 90 days to review and respond to the water system. There may be several rounds of comment and response before the final version is approved. The tables represent a snapshot of work in progress. We will update it periodically. If you have questions about this information, contact your regional planner. For more information on requirements:
For DOH guidance on what to include in a WSP:
* After opening the file, note the 3 tabs at the bottom of the file-- one for each region. The lists are sorted by county. For each system, the status of the submittal is reflected.
