What we do
We provide technical assistance and training to local health jurisdictions, veterinarians, and the public on transmission, prevention, control, and epidemiology of diseases transmitted to humans from animals.

How we do it
We conduct surveillance activities for zoonotic and vector-borne diseases to determine prevalence and geographic distribution. Suspected and known illness cases are investigated to improve prevention and control techniques. Our program also develops health education materials and conducts workshops for local health jurisdictions, health care providers, and animal control personnel.
