Adams County Health Department
Most county health care workers and emergency medical service
personnel have been vaccinated. Some vaccine has been provided
to local health care providers for distribution to their high
risk clients. The Health Department is now offering H1N1
vaccines, by appointment only, to qualifying individuals at
on-site clinics in the Ritzville and Othello offices. Clinic
hours include both daytime and extended evening hours. The Adams

We
appreciate your desire to protect yourself and your family from
this new virus with a vaccination. Until we can meet all of the
demand, please remember to wash your hands, cover your cough,
and stay home when you are sick.
If
you or your family members catch the flu, you will likely feel
sick for up to a week. It is important to keep the sick person
hydrated by drinking lots of fluids and help keep the fever down
with non-aspirin fever-reducing medication. Stay home until
24-hours after the fever is gone (without the use of
medication), and call your healthcare provider if symptoms get
worse.

stay home when you are ill for 24 hours after your fever
stopped, without use of fever reducing medications.

expect to receive enough vaccine to be able to offer it to any

Kittitas County Public Health Department is currently limiting
vaccine to those in the priority groups established by the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Vaccine is

inquire about vaccine availability. Due to high demand, health
care providers may not yet have enough vaccine for each of their
patients that fall into the priority groups. In these cases, the
provider may need to limit vaccine administration to certain
groups.

beyond. Packets with more specific information will be sent home
