Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration Requirements

Applicants must have an offer of employment from an agency or facility identified in WAC 246-810-016 or recognized by the Secretary as an agency or facility that can employ agency affiliated counselors as identified in WAC 246-810-017.

Employment Change:

Within thirty calendar days agency affiliated counselors must notify the Department of Health if they are no longer employed by the agency and division identified on their application, are now employed with another agency, or both. Agency affiliated counselors may not practice counseling unless they are employed by an agency.

Continuing Education:

Not at this time. The law requires continuing education. The standards will be established in the future.
