        "Health professions’ regulation is funded through credentialing fees. RCW 43.70.250 requires professions to be self-supporting and each health care provider must pay an initial application fee and once credentialed, pay a fee for renewal on an annual or biennial basis.         "Fees vary from profession to profession dependent upon the number of credential holders in a particular profession. Professions with few health care providers may have fees that are relatively higher in order to support the regulatory activities." + "<br>" + "<br>" +

        "<i><b>License:</i></b> The state grants permission to persons who meet predetermined qualifications to practice a specific health care provider profession. The qualifications for licensure are set by law and without a license, the practice of the specific health profession would be unlawful.         "<b><i>Certification:</i></b> The state grants recognition to an individual who has met certain qualifications. The qualifications are set in law. A non-certified person may perform the same tasks, but may not use certified in their title." + "<br>" + "<br>" +

		"HPQA staff and the boards and commissions form an interdependent partnership. Boards and commissions have decision-making authority over 34 health professions’ regulation and discipline. The Department of Health (DOH) has decision-making authority over 23 health professions and all administrative issues, processes and procedures. The DOH Secretary is responsible for organizing the agency to best serve and support agency, board and commission goals, objectives and policies.<br><br>"+
