Signs that may indicate a professional is experiencing problems:

Washington Health Professional Services Can Help.

W.H.P.S. came into existence August 1, 1991. This voluntary, structured, supportive monitoring program was designed to assist impaired health care practitioners into treatment and recovery.

The W.H.P.S. program includes:

  • Confidential consultation with the health professional, colleagues, or other concerned referring individual
  • Intervention consultation referral for evaluation referrals for treatment coordination of resources monitoring of participation and compliance
  • Encouragement and support
  • Education and outreach

W.H.P.S. offers an individualized program and provides a cost-effective approach to recovery from chemical dependency.
