Challenging the educational requirements of an EMS certification level: 

Applying for certification based on possession of a current health care provider credential and proof of education equivalent to the knowledge and skills for the level of certification.

This process applies to the following EMS certification Levels.   

Paramedic Certification

Application forms provided can no longer be filled out on the computer and printed.  Please print out the form, complete the application and obtain the required signatures.

Step 1:  Complete all the requirements provided in the application which includes Washington State approved, seven hour HIV/AIDS education course.

Step 2:  Complete the Challenge Certification Application
This form  MUST be printed out to complete and to obtain the necessary signatures.

Step 3:  Provide the information to the address listed above.

Challenging the paramedic educational requirements:  Applicants seeking paramedic certification must successfully complete a paramedic course through a training program accredited by a department-approved national accrediting agency.
