Migrant Farmworker Housing (MFH)

The Migrant Farmworker Housing (MFH) Program ensures the health and safety of migrant farmworkers and their families through the licensing and inspection of the housing provided by growers and operators.

Temporary or migrant farmworker housing might be land, a tent, house, garage, apartment, or a motel located at the worksite, in the orchard, at another rural area, or in a residential area.

Rules for migrant farmworker housing sites differ for 'Regular'/Non-Cherry Harvest Camp and 'Cherry Harvest Camp.'

Which type of housing site is yours?

  • If you provide housing for workers of a harvest - not the cherry harvest, your housing site is a regular, non-cherry harvest camp.

  • If you provide housing (not tents) for only workers of the cherry harvest, your housing site is a cherry harvest camp.

  • If you provide tents for housing for only workers of the cherry harvest, your housing site is a cherry harvest camp.

This website contains information about the services provided, how to become licensed, who is currently licensed, how to file a complaint, and other information about Migrant Farmworker Housing.
