What's New

The Department of Health has hired a new surveyor on the Residential Care Services team.   The first draft of the Residential Treatment Facility Resource Book has gone out to RTF stakeholders and volunteers for review, comments for revisions and additions.  Initiative 901 information available to assist you with enforcement questions.

The Alcoholism Treatment Facilities (ATFs) and Adult Residential Rehabilitation Centers (ARRCS) current fees were increased  3.2% to cover program costs within Initiative 601 limits.   Psychiatrically Impaired Children and Youth current fees were increased 50% to bring them in line with both ATFs and ARRCs.

The Residential Care Services (RCS) Program has been working on new rules that have been developed by combining environmental health and safety standards for Psychiatrically Impaired Children and Youth (WAC 246-323), Adult Residential Rehabilitation Centers (WAC 246-325) and Alcoholism Treatment Facilities (WAC 246-326) into one chapter - WAC 246-337.  Outcomes that have resulted from this project are listed.
