Washington voters passed an initiative in 1998 to allow the use of marijuana for medical purposes. Patients can have a 60-day supply if their doctor has recommended it for their condition.

The legislature changed this law in 2007. This page can keep you up to date on this subject and new projects to:

  1. write rules, due by July 1, 2008, defining a 60-day supply of medical marijuana, and

  2. to report back to the legislature, by July 1, 2008, on safe and effective methods of distributing medical marijuana.

We want your participation and feedback, and we encourage you to check back often for updates.

If you would like to receive updates by email or if you have any questions or concerns please contact us at MedicalMarijuana@doh.wa.gov.

Any comments are public record under the Public Disclosure Act.
