Registered Counselor Credential Abolished

Substitute House Bill 2674 abolished the registered counselor credential on July 1, 2010, and created eight new counseling credentials. If you do not have an active counseling credential by July 1, 2010, you must cease practice as a counselor. You cannot practice while your license status is pending. If you practice after June 30 without an active credential, it will be unlicensed practice and could result in legal action against you. For more information on the new counseling credentials please view our counseling website.

If you have questions or comments, please email counselorleg@doh.wa.gov.

Protect yourself and your patients from the flu – make sure you get a flu shot.
If you get the flu, you can spread it to your patients and family before you even feel sick. Healthcare professionals that get vaccinated reduce their chances of getting the flu and prevent the spread of disease to their patients and families.

For more information on flu and flu vaccinations, visit: http://www.doh.wa.gov/FluNews/ http://www.cdc.gov/flu.
