Board
of Health Priority Work Projects
Strengthening
Ties with Local
Boards of Health
Lead Staff:
Desiree Robinson
The Washington State Board of Health
(SBOH) continues a project it started in 2002 to strengthen ties with local boards of health.
It plans to accomplish this in several ways:
-
SBOH sent a letter
to all local boards asking to attend one of their regular
meetings. An SBOH member and a staff person will try to attend local board meetings
on a rotating basis to hear about local priorities and concerns.
-
SBOH also continues its long-standing
practice of holding its regular meetings in various local health
jurisdictions to give local boards convenient access to our meetings.
-
SBOH has asked to be added to LBOH meeting
minutes mailing list so that local board of health minutes can be
highlighted in the SBOH publication “FYI.”
-
SBOH will add all local boards to its meeting
agenda distribution list to increase awareness of current topics.
As part of this project, the Board has assembled LBOH
rosters and meeting schedules for and has added summaries of local board
activities to the
FYI section of its agendas.
