Traveling to Canada

Information about travel requirements to Canada can be found at the U.S. State Department.

Please note two important issues:

  • Travel by air has different requirements than travel by land or sea.

  • Travel requirements will change on June 1, 2009. If you are staying in Canada beyond that date, be aware of the changes before you leave.

Enhanced Drivers License

If you do not have a passport, your entry to Canada may be expedited by obtaining an Enhanced Drivers License through the Washington State Department of Licensing. This document is not valid for air travel.

Border Conditions

The Washington State Department of Transportation offers up to the minute conditions at major Washington/British Columbia border crossings, including estimated wait times and live cameras.

The Sixth Annual Pacific Northwest
Cross Border is hosted by
