The Washington Public Health Training Network is a primary link to the national CDC Public Health Training Network, a national training network focusing on training opportunities through different distance learning formats. Additionally, the WAPHTN includes more traditional classroom style instruction/training and access to a database of instructional and training reference information. This web page focuses primarily on current curriculum offered by providing information about a variety of instructional media ranging from traditional print-based and classroom approaches to videotapes and multimedia methods for meeting public health improvement training needs in Washington State. In 1996, our first year of operation, we served 4656 people through a variety of training modalities. Key to WAPHTNs effectiveness is the numerous partnerships it has developed, including the pivotal role of the University of Washingtons Northwest Center for Public Health Practice and to our training contacts throughout the state.
