Washington State Quarterly HIV/AIDS Surveillance Report

Washington State diagnosed its first case of AIDS in 1982. By December 2008, nearly 17,000 people had been diagnosed with HIV or AIDS across the state. The Washington State Department of Health estimates that there are currently between 11,500 and 12,700 people living with HIV disease in Washington, about 10,000 of whom have been reported to the state's HIV/AIDS surveillance system. The Washington State HIV/AIDS Surveillance Report presents information on HIV infection by year of diagnosis, gender, risk factor, and county of residence.
