Thriving Children, Teens, and Families

Child and Adolescent Health (CAH) focuses on health concerns that affect children and youth, ages birth to 21 years old.

The goals for CAH are to:

  • improve access to and utilization of health care services,
  • promote healthy growth and development and
  • develop public and private partnerships to improve the health of children and adolescents

CAH provides services and resources for children, adolescents, and their families; as well as for local health-care providers and community-based organizations. Areas we address include:

  • immunizations and regular health checkups
  • health and safety in child care and schools
  • family support and child-abuse prevention
  • teen-pregnancy prevention and abstinence education programs
  • healthy habits that support growth and development for children, teens, and their families.
